Attribute (as predicate nominal)

In French grammar, the term attribute is used to denote the syntactic relation of a predicative noun phrase or adjective phrase, i.e. it corresponds to the term predicate nominal that is more widespread in English.

This is the usual meaning of attribut in French. (The equivalent of attribute in French is épithète; see epithet.)
