Earl M. Herrick; B.A. University of Chicago; M.A. Hartford Seminary Foundation; Ph.D. Michigan State University; emeritus professor of linguistics at Texas A&M University-Kingsville

I am a stratificational linguist who specializes in the study of writing systems, and I have combined my work in these two fields of linguitics. Some of my publications have concentrated on writing systems (but often using examples of how to discuss them by means of a stratificational model), and some of them have concentrated on stratificational theory (but often using examples from writing systems). I have a web site with a bibliography and a collection of my papers on writing systems at http://users.tamuk.edu/kfemh00.
