Glottopedia dictionary articles may contain instructive quotations from the specialist literature. They can be in any of the artcle sections.

In the definition section, definitions of the term from prominent places in the literature can be given.

In the origin section, a quotation from an early attestation (or perhaps the original place where the term was first introduced) can be given.

Quotations may also be useful in other sections, such as the comments section or the examples section.

Glottopedia quotations normally appear in an indented block, in italics.
