Linguistic research articles (Category:LING) are one of Glottopedia's article types. They deal with topics relating to linguistic research activities, such as conferences, journals, institutions, and individual linguists.

In this regard, Glottopedia is very different from Wikipedia, which limits itself to classical encyclopedic information. But Glottopedia aims to be a comprehensive reference tool for linguists, and linguists need information not only about languages and ways of analyzing them, but also about their colleagues and ways of interacting with them (see also the wiki of the Association for Computational Linguistics).
